Q: What service do you provide?
A: Sunward Sewing & Design offers custom alterations by appointment across the Austin area. With over 2 decades of experience, our Master Tailor specializes in precise, high-end tailoring for discerning clients who value craftsmanship, discretion, and fit that feels effortless.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: Appointments are limited and often fill several weeks in advance. We recommend reaching out as early as possible—especially for formal-wear for events or special occasions, or garments needed for travel.
Priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that we do not offer fittings or deliveries on weekends or holidays.
Q: Do you offer seasonal wardrobe edits?
A; Yes. We offer seasonal wardrobe edits by private appointment. This service includes a personalized fitting and consultation to assess what to tailor, restyle, or retire—ensuring your wardrobe transitions beautifully with the season.
If you have specific garments in mind, or are building a capsule collection, we are happy to curate a plan that reflects your fit, style, and lifestyle.
Q: Do you work on vintage, couture, or delicate fabrics?
A: Yes. We work with care and precision on vintage garments, couture pieces, and delicate fabrics. Specialty tailoring is available by consultation and may require additional time.
Q: Do you make custom clothing?
A: No, we do not create garments from scratch. We specialize in high-end alterations, redesign, and tailoring of existing garments.
Q: Do you offer tailoring for men?
A: Yes. We tailor menswear as well as women’s garments. All clients receive the same level of craftsmanship and personalized service.
Q: How will I know when my garments are ready?
A: You will be notified by email when your alterations are complete.

Policies
We are committed to providing each client with a personal, respectful, and elevated experience. To help protect your time and ours, please review the following policies prior to booking.
Appointments
All services are by private appointment. Availability is limited and often books several weeks in advance. Weekend and holiday appointments are not available.
Fitting Fees
Fitting fees are not included in service pricing and are added to your final invoice based on garment type and project complexity.
Sunward Signature — $95
Sunward Reserve — $125

Service Minimum
Each appointment is subject to a $150 service minimum, not including fitting fees or applicable surcharges.
Travel
A $1/mile travel surcharge applies for appointments beyond 20 miles from our South Austin studio (78748). Travel distance is calculated using the shortest round-trip route via Google Maps.
Declining Service
Sunward Sewing & Design reserves the right to decline service at our discretion. This may include, but is not limited to, garments that are not suitable for tailoring, conduct or communication that compromises the comfort or safety of the appointment, or requests that fall out of our scope of expertise.
All appointments are by invitation and subject to availability.
Payment
We accept all major credit cards. You will receive a secure payment link via email at your fitting appointment. Standard card processing fees are included in our pricing. No cash or payment apps accepted.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Out of respect for our schedule and clients on our waiting list, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. Frequent cancellations may affect future booking eligibility. If you choose to cancel work already in progress, or on work not yet begun, we will be happy to schedule delivery of your project for a delivery fee of $35. No monies paid thus far will be refunded.
Scope of Work
We do not create garments from scratch. Sunward Sewing & Design specializes in alterations, garment redesign, and fit refinement of existing clothing only.
Final Payment & Garment Release
Final payment for all services is due before delivery. Garments will not be released to a client until any remaining balance is paid-in-full. Garments not claimed within 30 days of notification of completion will be considered abandoned, and become the sole property of Sunward Sewing & Design reserves the right to assess storage fees and, after a reasonable period (90 days or as permitted by law) and with prior notice, to responsibly dispose of or sell the item to recover costs.
No Refunds
Due to the custom nature of our work, we do not offer refunds of any kind, for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, all deposits, work-in-progress, and completed alterations and final invoices paid. Your satisfaction is our priority. If a finished garment does not meet the agreed-upon specifications, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will gladly make any adjustments, where possible, to achieve the intended outcome.
Right to Decline Service
We reserve the right to decline service at our discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, garments unsuitable for tailoring, inappropriate conduct or speech, or requests that fall outside our scope of expertise or ethical practice.
